Last update:
At FXRK, a Challenge account can be disqualified even if there are still open trades, if those positions cause the account to breach the Maximum Daily Loss or Maximum Total Loss limits.
Important clarification
The platform evaluates both:
Closed losses
Floating (unrealized) losses
These limits are monitored in real time.
If your equity falls below the allowed threshold at any moment, the account will be immediately disqualified, even if the trade is still open and later recovers.
How it works
The system does not wait for the trade to close.
If the combination of:
Balance
Open positions
Floating losses
causes the account to exceed its loss limits, the violation is triggered automatically at that moment.
Practical example
Example for a One-Step Challenge account:
Initial balance: 100,000 USD
Maximum Daily Loss: 4%
Maximum daily loss allowed: 4,000 USD
If you open a trade and it generates a floating loss of 4,300 USD, your equity will fall below the allowed daily threshold.
In that case:
The account will be automatically disqualified
It does not matter if the trade is still open
It does not matter if the trade later recovers
Important note
The applicable loss limits depend on the account model:
One-Step
Maximum Daily Loss: 4%
Two-Steps
Maximum Daily Loss: 4%
Instant
Maximum Daily Loss: 3%
The same principle also applies to the Maximum Total Loss / Max Drawdown rule.
How to avoid it
To reduce the risk of breaching this rule:
Monitor floating losses throughout the day
Use position sizing aligned with your account limits
Apply disciplined risk management
Avoid letting open trades get too close to the maximum loss limits
Final recommendation
Loss limit violations are triggered in real time and are not reversed, even if the trade later turns profitable.
Before trading, make sure you clearly understand the daily loss limit and the maximum total drawdown that apply to your account type.
